Here Come the Reinforcements
During the middle stages of WWII, German armored divisions often used the 4-wheeled Armored Car Sd.Kfz.222 for scouting and reconnaissance duties. The Sd.Kfz.222 featured an angled body and a turret with an anti-grenade net above its open top and was armed with a 20mm auto-cannon and a MG34 machine gun. Its independent suspension system was matched with a Horsch gasoline V8 liquid-cooled engine which produced 80hp, giving a maximum on-road top speed of 80km/h. Production of these vehicles began in 1936 and 990 were built, with the final one leaving the factory and entering service in 1943. This vehicle saw combat from Europe to Russia, and also at the North African front.
